we lived so close to the latin casino, i remember going with my parents when i was young - the waitresses lifted me up to their drinks bar so i could see better. we saw totie fields and i remember bert convey singing a song to me, i sat right against the stage that time and he bent down to sing a few lines to me, i felt so special!
when i was older, i went on my own to see donna summer and when they turned it into a punk rock dance place called emerald city, i saw the B52's there with my spiked-up hair! when i was in high school, during my senior year, i remember frank sinatra playing there, it was still the latin casino then, tix were $50. and i didn't have it, i knew i would regret not seeing him- i sure wish i had!
