SRAM's 'Urban Days 2013' presentation
- Simple bikes that work as part of the future of urban living:
Sounds nice. The reality is SRAM doesn't build infrastructure or even bikes. They build IGHs. So SRAM discontinued the respected T3, P5 and S7 hubs and the iMotion9 was a flop. They published the wrong gear ratio for the Automatix for a year and a half, and the G8 is a year late to market with no official specs yet. They make one style of shifter, which has few fans. And then there's spares, or lack of same.
Maybe the future is simple bikes with Velosteel hubs that work.
