Group Description

GardenBees 'started' in Central California. Commercial and larger and conventional "beeks" have support. Lacking support are those who want bees around, & are not primarily interested in honey.
Have a small yard? Garden? Want just, a "few" bees? LOL! We hear ya! {Kid Safe!}

Intended main focus will be the honeybee, Apis mellifera, by default. Intended for primarily the hobbyist and new beekeeper.

Observation hives and small or new beekeepers are emphasized, while realizing that larger bee keepers and apiary issues can be a source of information, knowledge, supplies, etc. Mason bees, etc. are pollinators and not emphasized but gladly supported. Pollination is primary, and honey taking secondary. However, where one succeeds, the other will surely follow. Support of the small beekeeper may be important to the ecology, today... tomorrow. Will your children's children... know bees?

SPAM will be blocked if inappropriate. (Non-bee or bee, but too frequent; recognizing that some dot-coms are useful sources of information, & some latitude is appropriate.)

Observation hives... Langs / Langstroth hives, TBH / Top Bar Hives, Kenyan TBH, Smith, National Standard (Britain,) Skeps, Warren, Longs, Combos, Warre', Christ, etc... Other ideas?
