Subject: [Galicia_Poland-Ukraine] I am doing the Happy Dance,

I came to a major conclusion today. THere are two virtual genealogy worlds searching for family from the Polish border area. An
english language world and a polish world.

As you are aware I have for years been searching for my maternal grandmothers family from Sarny. Have joined all the yahoo
groups and posted on various message boards with no results.

A short while ago through sheer fortune I found out the name of a distant cousin in Malbork. I did a google search (IT WAS AN
UNUSUAL POLISH SURNAME) and found the phone number of this cousins uncle who subsequently gave me her number.

I rang her and she said that we have more relatives in Warszawa - she didnt know how we were related but anyways she gave me the
number. I rang this lady and found out she was the daughter of my grandmothers brother Alfons - one of the long lost branches of
my family tree. Her daughter said that we had another cousin in Warszawa who was also interested in the genealogy of our family.

Today I got an email from him. I have opened up two lost branches of my family. So today by gutt feeling i googled his name with
all Polish characters and found his posting on a POLISH KRESY GENEALOGY PAGE where he is searching for family members.

      http://kresy-wschodnie.webpark.pl/ksiazka_gosci.html

In all these years I had never found this website.

I have discovered another 30odd cousins (spread throughout Poland - Warszawa - Malbork - Krakow)- we have exchanged photos - I
have photos that these cousins have never ever seen of there grandfather and great grandparents. They didnt even know my
grandmother or that australian relatives existed (there are two branches of our family in the antipodes - me and a large family in
      Sydney).

I HAVE HIT PAYDIRT - and whatmore I have found several cousins who are as genealogy crazy as I am.

We are only missing one branch of the family which remained in the Kresy after the recarving of Polands borders.

SO FOLKS I really RECOMMEND you do some googling over the Polish genealogy webiste devoted to the Kresy. Google with the FULL
POLISH SPELLING with all the diacritics (funny Polish letters) You never know - maybe your cousins in Poland are searching for you
as well but are also limiting their searches to Polish langugae groups.

FOLKS I AM DOING THE HAPPY DANCE - and my pooch thinks her human has gone loco!!!!
