Group Description

The Interfaith Committee of the Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital is committed to providing educational and enrichment experiences for the diverse members within our Council. We aim to provide activities and opportunities for girls and adults from every faith to build understanding and promote dialogue.

Girl Scouting is not a religiously affliliated organization. However, we recognize that many of our members practice various faiths. Though we may not all believe in the same god or practice our faiths in the same ways, exploring one's faith can help girls grow as Girl Scouts and as young women.

Interfaith Committee members:

-Act as resources to GSCNC about best practices regarding religious issues and faith communities
-Assist with the planning and implementation faith education programming, including the Open Houses of Faith program series
-Support and promote the earning of religious recognitions
