WQ8RP during QRP-TTF this Saturday
- QST QST QST - Attention all GRARA Members and other Michigan Hams!
This is to advise that KA5S, N8XX, KD8HNF, and as many suckers....
errr.... QRP operators as we can muster, will be operating QRP TTF this
Saturday, April 25, from about 11 a.m. (± SNAFUs caused by
operator/technician incompetence - and possibly unforeseen problemmes).
We'll probably start out on 20 and 40 metres, and switch to 80 and 40
metres as daylight fades. Usual QRP CW frequencies, 3560KHz, 7030KHz,
14060 KHz, all ± QRM.
20 metres 1500Z to about 2000Z (That's 11 a.m. to 4 pm Eastern Daylight
40 metres 1500Z to about 2259Z (That's the entire contest period, 11
a.m. to about 6:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight time)
80 metres 2001Z to about 2259Z (Thats about 4:01 p.m. to about 6:59 pm.
Eastern Daylight time.)
Note that QRP operations on CW are generally rather slow, so if you wish
to try some QRS CW, come on out, no matter how rusty you may be on code.
QRP ops are known to slow down to whatever speed an operator is sending.
Since this is a fun event, you may call 616-828-9663 if you wish a
special time for a sked on 80 metres - Michigan Stations probably won't
be able to be heard on 40 metres due to lack of sunspot which makes NVIS
not very good on 40 metres these daze)
If you're in the vicinity of Lowell Michigan, please join the fracas -
we'll be operating from Fallasburg Park, near Lowell, 1124 Fallasburg
Park Dr NE, Lowell, MI?. An interactive map from which you may receive
driving directions is at http://tinyurl.com/d5qc83
Any any all operators are cordially invited to join us. Please Lettuce
no via return mail to n8xx@..., or call my cell phone number listed
If you can't join us, please operate from the field, preferably near a
facility construction during the 1930's by the CCC or WPA, And if you
can't get outside, that's fine too, there's a "home station" category.
