ARRL June VHF Contest this Weekend June 9, 10
- I want to remind everyone that this coming weekend is the June VHF contest
sponsored by the ARRL. All Bands 50Mhz and up are included in this contest,
with lots of activity on SSB, and CW. So, if you have a multi-band HF radio
that has 6 meters, and 2 meters please get "radio active" and have some fun on
VHF/UHF. The contest starts Saturday at 2:00PM and ends Sunday at 11:00PM. Hot
spots on the band will include 50.125 the 6 meter call frequency, and 144.200
the 2 meter call frequency.
Local amateurs you are likely to hear on the band include K8DOG/R, KF8QL/R,
WD9USA, N8DGD and others.
Here is an article introducing the contest on the KC9BQA website, who is a very
active contester in Wisconsin.
I operate as a mobile station or "rover" during the contest, and it will take me
into 7 grids during my driving between the hills I operate from. My schedule is
posted on my website here:
I look forward to hearing you on the bands!
