Announcing Great Plains Super Launch 2003 - the 3rd annual gathering of
Amateur Radio high altitude balloonists. This year's GPSL is hosted by Edge
of Space Sciences www.eoss.org and will be held in conjunction with the 2nd
Colorado Space Grant Consortium BalloonSat Workshop
      http://spacegrant.colorado.edu/studentsat/.

GPSL2003 will be held on the Boulder campus of the University of Colorado
from 10AM to 5PM on Friday, June 13th. Numerous presentations and
discussions will be lead by experienced Amateur Radio high altitude
balloonists. (Contact EOSS President Mike Manes, W5VSI manes@...
with additional topics.) A dinner will be held afterwards at a nearby
eatery. More details and updates will be available at http://gpsl.eoss.org/
including a special accommodation rate at Ramada Inn Boulder.

Early Saturday morning, June 14th, GPSL crews will head east on I-70 to the
town of Deer Trail, Colorado where they will prepare to launch at least
three balloons carrying small BalloonSat experiment packages built by
workshop attendees from NASA Space Grant Colleges and Universities all over
the U.S. GPSL balloon teams will then conduct tracking and recovery
operations using APRS and DF tracking beacons. (If weather on Saturday is
unsuitable, launch, tracking and recovery will be postponed to Sunday
      morning, June 15th.)

All interested Amateur Radio and high altitude ballooning enthusiasts are
warmly invited to attend this exciting event. Check http://gpsl.eoss.org/
