Despite its low profile compared to rocketry in the space race, NASA's scientific balloon program continues to adapt to the times. It has re-emerged as one of the most efficient and economical avenues to world-class space science.

This documentary by Bill Rodman provides a look at the history of scientific ballooning, and features NASA's Balloon Program Office and the Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility. Bill took  part in many balloon campaigns and obtained some spectacular footage from Sweden, Antarctica, Australia, New Mexico, and Texas.
