SKYWARN Mission Statement

SKYWARN is a group of trained, dedicated volunteer Severe Weather Spotters who work for the NWSFO Mt. Holly NJ by observing and reporting adverse weather conditions to promote public safety and minimize property damage.

The concept of PLANNING, MITIGATION, RESPONSE and RECOVERY guides our local unit. We operate under the concept of EMCOMM and a "Unified Command" with NJSP OEM via our Parent Command NWSFO Mt. Holly N.J.

Since 1997 Cooperation with your Coordinator, and Focusing on your spotter training has been expected of each spotter in our community and made us successful. This "Has Been the Precedent to Guide you in Your Conduct".

AVOID END RUNS around your Coordinator or NET Control, you cause confusion and dissension in the local unit. Remain calm when reporting. Cape May Co. Skywarn Nets are the OFFICIAL NETS for reporting. Training is arranged through the Coordinator.
