Dear Dee, both my children were born by c-secton. I am sure I had HCV then. I
had HBv antigens at the time from a bout with it in 1970.. I waited a while
to have my kids tested too...I was scared. Finally, I got the courage to
have them tested and they are both NEGATIVE! I was so sure i had to have
exposed them during pregnancy and delivery...
Just a little note from another mom who had a little (GREAT) fear about
      testing her kids.

Chances are they will also be negative. God Bless....love, gee

HCV. That sure would be a lot better explaination to family members when I
finally come out of the closet. Admitting I flirted with illegal drug use
with dirty works isn't anything I want to disclose to anyone especially my
children. I've even thought I'd lie and say I had a blood
transfusion......My husband didn't know about my past use and I told him.
He seems a bit distant now....On well.......Dee Dee

Unfortunately, I was an IVDU in the 60's and 70's. Got HepB from using a
friend's needle and KNEW he had HepB!!! So...I guess the obvious is that i
must have been exposed to C sometime during that part of my life. Funny, I
thought I had left it all so far behind me.......here I am a 49 year old ,
working in a library, living in small town suburbia, house, kids, great
husband...squeeky clean life.......I want to tell kids these days...THE

that if someone told me that when I was a kid........noone did. I know I
'thought' that probably what I was doing back then would be over when it
ended........hmmmmmmmmm. I thank God, my kids and husband are ok. But I have
since found out a couple of friends are also sick...was it from me??? We'll
never know...but boy oh boy..........I'd sure like to be able to stop it from
happening to anybody else. Sorry for the ramble...just got carried away in
the memory of it. God Bless...mzgee

Well "mzgee1" You just told my story word for word. I feel like I am
paying for the wreckage of the past. I thought I took care of that long

I had a similar experience in the 60s. The guest who provided the
"equipment" announced he had hepatitis AFTER everyone was done. I yelled at
him, but if I had understood the consequences then I would have done more.
Of course, I am as you say, mother of 2, respectable adult. The 60s are
like a myth. No one had a clue about the far-reaching, now life-altering,
effects of behavior we only thought of as rebellious.

                Ciao! :))
