Told myself not to let myself lapse from checking this email again, but I
did. Have been soooo tired, semms like all I do is sleep, getup for a
couple hours, take a nap, get up eat, over and over, my year is up in March
though so am hoping and praying for good results as everyone does, and I am
still working 32 hours a week, so work is basically my life , well maybe
SLEEP is, as that is all I seem to get done. It has been a long year, and
seems like side effects are getting worse the further along in tx I get.
Just wanted to touch base, Thinking of you

Hi everyone! It sure has been quiet lately. I don't
know if yall will recall, but a few weeks ago there
was a special on HCV on one of the TV stations in San
Antonio (I missed all but one day of it!). During
that week there was free HCV testing at different
locations around town. Well, the results are in, and
10% of those tested, tested positive. TEN percent! Not
too great. Just thought I'd pass that bit of info on.

          Hi Suzy,
I read something about a doctor at the CDC saying
that unofficially they now think that 2.8% is closer
to an accurate estimate, which would bring the total
figure for the US to almost 8 million. I don't know
if it's true or not, but I do think the estimate of 4
          million is way too low.
I am doing ok although I think I am having a
flare-up of the HCV right now. Very easily fatigued,
mild nausea on and off, and aching bones all over.
Could be a mild case of the flu but I don't think so.
I wonder if the corticosteroid injection and pills I
was on last week could have caused this? I bet it
          could have.
I have a NEW concern now. Maybe someone here
would know something. Marty? I have had problems with
my neck for years now, and x-rays 5 years ago showed
small bone spurs at C6 & C7, and a CT 2 years showed
the same. Today my PCP told me that my x-ray last week
showed 'crushing' of C6 & C7. I have probably had LESS
pain and muscle spasms in my neck the past year, so I
had expected the x-ray to be the same as before. I
was really caught off guard, couldn't think of
anything to ask while I was there, naturally. Not
even sure what I should be asking. Anyone have any
          ideas?
I bet you can hardly wait until next month! When
in March will you be finished with treatment? Don't
forget about us when you're done! I KNOW you are
going to be a success story, and we NEED those!
          Take care,
          Claudine

            Claudine,

Lemme know what you find with the neck thing. My neck has been bothering me
almost every single day for years now. My primary doc told me to "lose
weight". <sigh> Well that's all well and good but it still hurts and gets
stiff. I have had some mild neck injury in the past. So I'll be curious to
            hear about yours.

I'm actually considering seeing a pain specialist. I have a PPO. I've taken
every anti-inflammatory and OTC med around and it's not much help. Part of
my problem, I think is that I used to lift weights before I got so fatigued
and sick with the hep and now I do good just to do some stretching. I'm
trying to build up my muscle strength again, very very slowly, but man, I
hate this. Being old AND a hepper sucks lol.

            Keep us informed. Good luck.

Thanks for the vote of confidence,
Hopefully you will be right, tx has been a real kicker at times, fatigue,
sleeping 14 hours a day sometimes offf and on but have been able to work,
done the first week in March yahoo!!! wbcs have gone to panic levels
quuite a few times and hgb about 8.9 so have felt yucky quite a bit of the
time, vomiting more now towards end of tx then previously and headaches are
              coming back in full force,
Sorry to hear about your neck worsening, my neck bothers me also have
bulging disks so if yours are crushing ouch!!!
GTlad to hear that you got a new DR. that you like that is so important.I
bet the cortisone could have caused it also , nasty side effects, esp the
              amounts you were on
well take care and I will not forget this group, it was a life saver for me
