liver regenerates & heals??
- nowthat ihave tested hcv free i would like to know if my liver will do any
healing and/or regenerating. when my biopsy was done i was told that i had
level 2 fibrosis of the liver. will this reverse? will i still be sick
from this? will it continue to deteriorate anyway possible at a slower rate
than when hcv active? any info would be greatly appreciated.
Marty - i believe your wife and I started treatment about the same time.
has she tested & results?
i would also like to thank all of you on the list. i could not have made it
through this last six months without all of the help i have received from
this list. i did not know where to turn, expecially in the first couple
months when i was so incredibly sick.
God Bless all of you. Harriett (hcv-not detected)

From everything I have read if you have cleared
the virus permanently then YES, your liver will
probably heal. Fibrosis has always been considered
reversible, and now there is evidence that even
cirrhosis can be reversed. The interferon itself may
have already begun the healing, since it is an
anti-fibrotic, although most studies I've read state
that a longer period of use than 6 months is needed,
although that is in people who DON'T clear the virus.
Good luck, and congratulations on being HCV
