UEGW 2004: Ondansetron Reduces Fatigue in Patients With Hepatitis C

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC -- September 30, 2004 -- Ondansetron has a significant positive effect on fatigue associated with chronic hepatitis C, according to a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study presented here September 28th at the 12th United European Gastroenterology Week.
Study Patient Consultant Geoffroy Vanbiervliet, MD, Clinical Assistant, Hepatogastroenterology, H�pital Archet 2, Nice, France, said, "We have previously shown that fatigue is a disabling symptom in hepatitis C that is often associated with depression, and at the moment there is a lack of available therapy for fatigue-associated hepatitis C."
