      HCV ISN'T MENTIONED HERE but if I read the WHO website correctly, 169.7 million people are *reported* infected with HCV worldwide.

      from Emerging Infectious Diseases: "Based on prevalence rates ranging from 0.1% to 33% in different countries, WHO estimates today that as many as 3% of the world's population could be infected with HCV and that there may be some 200 million chronic carriers who are at risk of developing liver cirrhosis and/or liver cancer."

      Couldn't find any statistic on deaths at the moment. WHO stats pages are not responding.
