See, that darn old memory thing...just couldn't remember if it was 3 or 4 times you did various treatments. I'm heading into my second round...Pegasys this time. And like you, I'll keep trying until I respond or die.

HI.Just for the record.I was 1b.Had two rounds of TX with the old combo, one trial with high doses of interferon and Ribavarine, and last but not least the final round with the PEG (Scheering) and this want did the trick. With the new PEG (Roche seems to be a little bit better then Scheering)1 a.s hve a good change of clearing the dragon. So don.t,never, give up!!!.Willem.

I didn't see the original post...my puter has been down for close to a month with a boot sector virus that I've been battling.

Is this Cher that has been with us a long time? I would certainly ask to have a second test done to be sure. As I recall you were a genotype 1, weren't you? Unfortunately it seems very difficult for 1's to be sustained responders. But keep trying...Willem is genotype 1 and it took 3 rounds (or was it 4...my memory isn't so good) of treatment before he finally responded and is still a sustained responder. I'm a genotype 1 and didn't respond.

      Cherry-

Maybe the virus is somehow crippled or damaged by your treatment and cannot
replicate as it usually does. But yes, labs can make mistakes, after all
the tests are designed by humans and run by humans-we aren't failproof.

I am back from the dr. I do have a copy. I belive I wasn't making
myself understood. Apparently 4 1/2 months ago, when they did the
sensitivity test (quantisure plus) the test read < than 10

It stated Less than 10 IU/ml indicates either complete absence of
the HCV RNA or in rare cases, low copy number below the detectable
      limit of the assay.
The date of the above was 3/13/03

      The most recent 6/27/03
Test Quantisure Plus Test RESILT 90 IU/mL
(there was no note like the above, just stated what the
definition of what a PCR was.

My insistence was since all other blood work (CBC CMP) was normal and
up to par to put me back on tx NOW. Now, this is a gastro, I am
dealing with and here is where I think the b.s. is coming in. He
stated that because I have already been thru tx that he can not re-
treat me without an okay from a Heptologist of which he is sending me
to within the next 2 weeks in Charletsville~~a 5 hr trip~~A Dr.
Caldwell. He also mentioned that I should be off of previous tx for a
complete year. HE said HE the gastro could NOT put me back on tx
until I saw a heptologist because no insurance would pay for it ( I
have medicaid and that he personally could not put me on tx until I
saw a heptologist to see what he said) So, I said in the meantime
this stuff just will keep going up, and he said something like 90 was
not that bad a % considering I was in the millions when I started tx
b4. ALSO, he wanted to re-run the test to make sure this 90 is
correct because there could be an error. I said, and just how often
does THAT happen and he said, he has seen it happen b4 and I said WHY
would something so important happen like that. He said , could be a
number of things, computer error, lab error, anything, so to be safe,
let's run the quantisure plus test again and in the mean time they
would send me to Charolettsville to see the Heptologist and hopefully
be back down to the gastro's office by Aug 29 to see whether the
heptologist recommends tx again or not.
Okay, if it NOT, then why would the wait??? Also, he say as far
as my cirochiss is that it is not that bad that I am not even a stage
      4. Well, I thought anytime you had cirochiss that was stage 4. Upon
physical examination, he says he feels a normal liver, no hardening,
doesn't "hear" any fluid. I dont know what to think.

Also, I have a very bad rash looking someting on both my legs,
itch, itch, itch and also on the palm of hands, itch itch, and I ws
afraid it ws liver related but he said no,it wasn't. He also, said it
wasn't psoriaisis either that I would have to go to dermintologiist.

I am really confused now after what a couple of you saying that
it is impossible to be @ 90 and be in relapse. Can someone please
explain this to me. Dr. said that 90 was a small #, why would they
wait till it replicated even more. He also said that most people that
replapsed off tx did so within 3 - 6 months of tx, well, if this is
relapse, then I did it at 7 months 1 week post tx so if it is relapse
I suppose I am right on time. Is it possible that it when we did the
test 3 weeks ago that it was "caught" right @ the 90 mark b4 it
replicated into the 1000's or millions. AND something I read one
time~~is this a myth or false or what, but I read once you relapse
you will replicate the viruse in your body every 2 hrs until you get
back to where you were b4 tx. anyone else heard of that or is it b.s.
      any advice, suggestions, feedback welcome.
      Cherry
