Study finds that HCV therapy can reverse, slow, or stop fibrosis &
inflammation progression even for viral nonresponders. And, 50% of
patients with cirrhosis were able to improve liver disease/fibrosis,
viral responders did better. An editorial in Gastroenterology was
written by Prof. Michael Arthur saying that...if you think cirrhosis
is impossible.....this study may change your mind....there is
substantial evidence that in human liver disease & animals liver
fibrosis & cirrhosis can regress over time, depending in part on
whether or not the underlying cause is persistent.
