        William,
WAY TO GO!!!!!!!! I am SOOOOO happy for you!!!! Cheers, cheers, cheers!
I, too have just had my one year-post treatment PCR-NEgative also! However, no one told me I didn't have to come back in six months. Is one year still negative a positive indicator that the dragon is gone forever?
        William, hugs, hugs, hugs!!!!!

            Hi all,
Congrats to Willem and Lora for SVR up to one year, you guys are are fortunate but have worked hard at taking therapy.Your HCV has perhaps gone for ever.
Over 90% of HCV mono-infected patients who have negative HCV viral load (undetectable) 6 months after stopping therapy remain undetectable. Small studies of perhaps 200 hundred patients in total have followed patients for 3-11 years and find over 90% of these patients continue to have undetectable HCV in the blood.
When doctors refer to HCV being "curable" it is often said that this is analagous the situation with cancer. In cancer if they can't find cancer for a certain number of years after therapy has been finished they call the person cured. Does cancer ever re-emerge? We need long-term studies in HCV to evaluate the outcomes of patients who sustain undetectable HCV viral load in order to confirm this.
If a patient can sustain an undetectable viral load for 6 months to 1 year after stopping HCV therapy this gives them the best opportunity to remain healthy. It's important to bear in mind that these study results apply to patients with HCV mono-infection.

            Best Wishes,

            Dr Sharat Misra MD,DM,FACG

commend you for that. Now you can just sit back and respond to the rest of

those times, I barely made it 52 weeks. and don't really want to think of
going through it again, but if the symptoms get worse again I suppose I

                  Hi!

I just found out about your list and I am really glad. We are Anita
and Davis and are out of Florida. Recently relocated here from
                  California and really love it.

Davis is on treatment and I am her support person. She is
curently on the combo pegasys and riberviron.

She has started getting tons of sores in her mouth and a very
sore throat. The sores are getting worse and the Dr says the
typical.. " its a side effect"

                  Duh.

So I wonder if anyone has experieced this and if anyone knows
                  of any relief for it.

We have the biotene mouth wash and toothpaste.. Gurgles with
warm salt water and we have cloreseptic...

Any othere handy hints are so welcome.

                  Thanks

Our list is also a good one too...fun, friendly and informative..
check it out if you want.

Its dedicated to provide support for folks BEFORE, DURING and
POST-TREATMENT. Thought we'd put out a list and make a
couple friends.. next thing we knew we had 130 members!

Subject: Re: Magic Mouthwash for mouth sores and ulcers???

These are the two recipes I have:

                    1/3 Maalox
                    1/3 liquid Benadryl
                    1/3 lidocain viscous 2% soloution

                    Here's the second

                    1/3 liquid Prednisone syrup 5mg/5ml
                    1/3 liquid Benadryl
                    1/3 liquid Nystatin

You'll need a prescription for the prednisone and nystatin in the
                    second
                    recipe.

                            GI?

What do you mean about rebuilding your life? I know your husband has not
been well and sure hope he is doing better. You sorta had to put your life
on hold while he was ill.

Know that my thoughts are with you and I'm anxiously awaiting to hear what
