Folks, I have received the following information:

      ____________________________________________________
The Satellite Analysis Branch (SAB) will discontinue production and
distribution of the daily Northern Hemisphere snow/ice charts located at
http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/SNOW/ . On March 3, 2008, this function will be
assumed by the National Ice Center (NIC), a multi-agency operational
center operated by the United States Navy, the National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration, and the United States Coast Guard. The new web
site containing the NIC products is located at:
      http://www.natice.noaa.gov/ims/ .

On March 3, 3008, users pulling the snow/ice product from
gp12.ssd.nesdis.noaa.gov will need to switch and pull from
satepsdist1e.nesdis.noaa.gov. Users pulling the product via anonymous FTP
will need to switch from gp16.ssd.nesdis.noaa.gov to
satepsanone.nesdis.noaa.gov. Access information for the new servers can be
obtained from the contacts below. The NIC analyzed product will be made
available on both gp12 and gp16 until March 30, 2008.
