        Per an article about six years ago in "Krasnaya Zvezda" the Russians got an
        intact M48A4 with "Blazer" armor in 1982 from the Syrians after it was
        captured during the Bekaa Valley campaign. Russian designers had been
        pressing for using "dynamic protection" (i.e. reactive armor) for several
        years and when it was found the Israelis had it and it WORKED the T-64BV,
        T-80BV, and T-72BV all appeared in 1984.
