      John 4:1-30, 8:1-11
      Psalm 130

"She said, `No one, Lord.' And Jesus said, `Neither do I condemn; go and do not sin again(John 8:11)."

When Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well, he didn't say "You're a sinner. Stop what you're doing wrong. You're going to hell if you keep on doing what you're doing." No, even though this would come later, he started with compassion. He offered a spiritual gift. He spoke to her about the kingdom of heaven. he started positive, then brought her to an inescapable conclusion about her sin and her need for a savior.
When the woman was about to be stoned for adultery, Jesus didn't stand with her executioners and condemn her, he forgave her, and then told her to go and sin no more.
Conviction and love are like a cart and a horse. Some soft headed Catholics have forgotten the cart and become people pleasers, while stubborn Protestants like me have forgotten the horse, so the convicting message goes nowhere. The two are inseparable, and we won't reach anyone until we have both hooked up and running.

Dear Father in heaven, help me to share the good news like Jesus did. Help me to share the message the right way instead of relying on my own insight. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.
