Donaldson Stepping Down
- According to a report on the Wall Street Journal's website, Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman William Donaldson is expected to announce his resignation, effective at the end of the month. Donaldson's term does not expire until 2007, and the Journal article noted that Donaldson has long said he would stay as long as President Bush wanted him to remain and as long as he felt he was being effective. The article also noted the SEC's recent budget and internal control problems, which I discussed in a FundLaw post on Monday.
