      The ongoing uprising in Iraq by Shias, Sunnis and other resistance forces has not only surprised the US forces and inflicted the highest number of casualties to allied troops since the beginning of the war a little over a year ago, but has exposed the structural fragility of the US/British occupation of the country.

       

      Inside Iraq, no one doubted that the overwhelming majority of Iraqis were opposed to the US occupation. For world -- and specially gullible American -- audiences however, the Bush administration built an elaborate façade of deception.
