Friends of King Park and Kala Art Institute, in partnership with the City of Berkeley's Kid's Triathlon, invite you to join us for coffee Saturday, May 21 at King Park between 9:00am-11:00am during the Kid's Triathlon.

View the new Watershed and Community mural by neighborhood resident Eduardo Pineda and Joaquin Newman.

    • Meet the artists.
    • Learn about YOUR watershed.
    • Enter to win great raffle prizes including:
      • Gift Certificates toward Camp Kala: Summer Youth Arts Program and Adult Workshops at Kala Art Institute
      • A fantastic collection of must-have gourmet books
      • Free passes and swim lessons at King Pool
    • All donations go toward improvements at the park.

This year Kala Art Institute has collaborated with the muralists and King Middle School students to design the "community and watershed-themed mural", made possible from Chancellor's Fund Community Partnership Grants and a grant from the Alameda Countywide Watershed Stewardship Program.  The mural is intended to beautify the park, educate viewers about the water cycle and environmental connections, as well as reduce graffiti on the wall.  Please bring your family and help us celebrate this exciting community project!

An event flyer is attached--help spread the word.  See you there!

    Sincerely,
Your neighbors with the Friends of King Park
