Friends: It's Shoreline Clean-up time again!
- Please forward this email to neighborhood groups and others that might be
interested in the Cleanup!
This year's event will be held on Saturday, September 17th, 2005. We hope
that you will help us clean up our beautiful shoreline. The main purpose of
this event is to collect some good data on what kind of trash is showing up
on our shoreline.
IMPORTANT!! - This year we are requiring that minors unaccompanied by their
legal guardians bring a signed release form that I have attached to this
email. Everyone else can sign the waiver at the event.
This year marks the 21st Annual Coastal Cleanup for California, a
contribution to the International Coastal Cleanup organized by the Ocean
Conservancy. All 50 states and over 100 countries take part in the
International Cleanup making this effort the largest marine-related
volunteer event in the world.
If you would like to help, come to the Emeryville Fire Station, 2333 Powell
Street, at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Bring Gloves, a Hat, and closed toe shoes. We
'll provide water and other drinks. The event will last until Noon.
Free coffee, hot chocolate and breakfast treats for all.
If you have questions, call me at 510-596-3728.
Please spread the word!
