"The irony of a robot who is just as human as the people. Why is it called "I, Robot" if it isn't told from the robot's point of view? Maybe there is connection to the twist at the end?!"
Mornin' Everyone,
how's everyone doing?
Once, long ago, it might have been unusual to think that a robot or a computer could have feelings. Recall a robot called H.A.L. in movie ''2001: A Space Odyssey,'' with voice of faithfulness, or that intelligent butler/ droid C-3PO in the ''Star Wars'' films, or Peter Weller's RoboCop, a half-wrecked alloy of a man haunted by video flashbacks. Or take Steven Spielberg's ''A.I.'' film with the meka-ghosts of artificial intelligence who just kidding of taking over the machines.
When character Del Spooner (Will Smith), the future-world detective, suspects that a robot has committed murder, in the future 2035 ...wow, but the audience is already three steps ahead of Will. In the amusing early scenes of ''I, Robot,'' metal droids walk dogs and pick up the garbage, and they gallop through the morning rush hour.. This new film isn't badly directed by Alex Proyas ('Dark City', 'The Crow'), and it has some nifty choreographed scenes special visual effects, in style of "Minority Report."
Alex Proyas is an innovative filmmaker, with a large-scale science fiction productions. Born in Egypt to Greek parents, Proyas moved to Sydney, Australia, when he was only 3 years old. By 18, he was a distinguished freshman at the Australian Film and Television School, where he wrote and directed Groping, the 1982 Best Short Film winner at both the Sydney and London Film Festivals. Proyas returned to feature film in 1994's sinister comic book adaptation The Crow. Unfortunately, the movie is mostly remembered for the tragic on-set death of its star, Brandon Lee, a misfortune that overshadows its craft. Later, Proyas continued cultivating a script he had begun in 1990, a paranoid thriller (soon to be called Dark City) based on both science fiction literature and detective stories.
There are several feature projects in development by Proyas for 2005-07, among them are a remake of the Italian film 10th Victim, a science fiction mystery with stars: Ursula Andress and Marcello Mastroianni, and another one is a film adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's "Masque of the Red Death." Proyas will also direct and produce the new TVseries "Riverworld" (based on the book collection), for cable Sci-Fi Channel. And Proyas' in blue prints realistic film project, about a garage band in Sydney -- a comedy.
..Back to " I, Robot " ..I began to notice that Will Smith interacts with everyone on screen. It's a good sign?! Let me know what you think of this movie?
Imagine.. you're in a community.
Each family know their history, some can cook and some are handy with tools.
"... What was it? A meteorite? A visit of inhabitants of the cosmic abyss? One way or another, our small family has seen the birth of a tiny miracle - the Village."
At first glance, the isolated village seems picture perfect, but this community lives with the frightening knowledge that creatures reside in the surrounding woods.
Kitty - Why did you take my necklace? Where are you going, I'm asking you?
You gave me your word and I believed you.
All right, you're not thinking about yourself, but what about us? ...
< to be continue... >Can director and screenwriter M. Night Shyamalan's The Village live up to the legacy of his previous supernatural blockbusters, The Sixth Sense and Signs?
How long is it going to take until someone gives away the twist? What? So it's not actually the vvvvv?vvvvv
= blocked movie spoilers! If you have ANY "The Village" movie related stories, images, drawings, film reviews, suggestions, etc. Please feel free to E-mail us! We love to hear from ya.
So, what do you think Shyamalan means by mystical creatures? Couldn't European fairies, nymphs, brownies, elves, gnomes, goblins, trolls and Smurfs have sneaked aboard the boats to America like many humans did in 1897..?).The VILLAGE - See Photos FILE
