- Jan 18, 2005Good day,When is it no longer the "new" year?Yesterday I was shopping at the grocery store, and I said, "Happy New Year" to the cashier. She paused, act surprise, and then flatly offers me a "Happy New Year" in return. Suddenly, I felt embarrassed.I guess, to me, the year 2005 still seems new, because people celebrate it after it has passed. But when does it end? Happy New Year!Any thoughts??
