Mensans, in your humble moderator's experience, tend to be a refreshingly and disproportionately independent, free-thinking, (lower-case) libertarian-leaning bunch. This Special Interest Group of American Mensa is intended as a relatively nonpartisan forum for the intelligent, reasoned discussion of liberty-related issues, and how to pursue an environment of philosophically honest and consistent, practical limited (or better) government, individual liberty and personal responsibility. "A libertarian is a person who believes that no one has the right, under any circumstances, to initiate force against another human being for any reason whatever; nor will a libertarian advocate the initiation of force, or delegate it to anyone else. Those who act consistently with this principle are libertarians, whether they realize it or not. Those who fail to act consistently with it are not libertarians, regardless of what they may claim."
-L. Neil Smith-
Oh, BTW. This group is presented for your delight or edification, or to foster invigorating debate. Maybe (dare we hope?) even make a difference. Needless to say, the opinions expressed here are neither endorsed by, nor a reflection of the opinions of any local Mensa, American Mensa, or Mensa International. Remember, Mensa has no opinions, although our individual members and these authors often do. Revel in the possibilities...
