Sadly, I don't have any amusing stories about the Nightrunner books, but
if you guys don't mind a somewhat off topic but related funny story...
Several years ago, I was waiting at a Greyhound station, looking at a
doujinshi (Japanese fan comic, of an anime that was popular at the time to
slash the male characters). This older gentleman asked me what I was
reading. I told him. He asked about the story. So I told him. It was
something along the lines of "Well, these two are a couple, but this other
fellow has a thing for that guy and is going after him and making *that*
guy jealous..." And on like that. The guy who'd asked me just smiled
