Group Description

This list is about birding in Florida and the Bahamas and all related topics. Posts about upcoming trips and job opportunities are allowed. Posts about related subjects, such as environmental issues and dragonflies for example, and announcements for birding trips, businesses, and festivals also are allowed though discretion is suggested.

Forbidden topics include pet birds and virus warnings. E-mail photo attachments are now going to be allowed. Replying to a message automatically goes to the sender. If you wish reply to the list, you must enter the group address yourself.

NEW MEMBERS WILL BE PLACED ON "MODERATED" STATUS UNTIL THEY POST A MESSAGE TO THE LIST OR SEND SOME BACKGROUND INFORMATION (BIRDING HISTORY, INTEREST IN JOINING THIS LIST, OR SOMETHING SIMILAR) TO THE LISTOWNER (ADDRESS BELOW). THIS IS ONLY TO PREVENT SPAMMERS FROM JOINING THE LIST.

Thank you for joining and we look forward to reading your sightings:)

The above photo is of our latest Rarity in Florida. A Loggerhead Kingbird photographed by Jill Gaetzi at Fort Zachary, Key West on 3/9/07. The Loggerhead Kingbird was a first confirmed sighting in North America. Kingbird was first discovered March 3, 2007 and continued until March 27, 2007. Possibly the same kingbird was relocated on Stock Island on April 25, 2007, but the bird was not relocated the next day.
