this morning I was looking around where I used to live in Winter Park off Howell Branch Road for year birds. I was near Holly St. when I noticed the first winter hummingbird I have ever seen in that area, a female Archilochus. I was not able to watch the bird for very long and I did not see it land. I did note that the bird was constantly pumping its tail which Sibley says is a sign of Black-chinned Hummingbird. I will probably try to find this bird again later in the week.
