I haven't watched G4 outside of Ninja Warrior for years. X Play began to slide in quality, Screen Savers was canned, Cheaters (or Haters) was added to the schedule.

My boss when I was working retail was a HUGE technology junkie. I never had G4 or TechTV, but one day he came in and was ranting and raving about how G4 took over TechTV and basically cancelled all its original programming or changed it to be more G4ish. That was a good day cause his rant took about 3 hours of work time.

I used to love G4 Back in the day. Blister, Sweat, Filter with Diane Mizota, Cheat!, G4TV.com with Scot Rubin, Tina Wood and Laura Foy. I really loved Judgment Day and the classic Reruns of Starcade. They could have done so much with the video game network by getting reruns of the old school Video Power, various cartoons, and getting more imports from England and stuff like that.

Nowadays, it's nothing more than Cops, Cheaters, Ninja Warrior, and other crap like Attack of the Show and X-Play. I've always hated X-Play. DOn't get the love for it. Personally, it tried too hard to be hip and it just killed it for me.

I loved G4, before it turned to crap. I would watch it ALL weekend. I think Kevin Rose leaving Attack of the Show/Screensavers was the point of no return. Then they brought in Howard Stern's girlfriend to host Filter, which was no longer videogame or tech related.

My favorites were Cheat with Kristen Holt, Filter with Diane Mizota, Icons, Judgement Day with Victor Lucas and Tommy Tallarico, Cinematech, Brainiac, and G4TV.com with Lara Foy, Tina Wood, and Geoff Keighley.

At least Keighley had enough sense to jump off the sinking G4 ship and now has his own video game show on Spike TV. I've seen Tina Wood occasionally on XBox Live, and I think she was a part of Microsoft's press conference at E3. Tommy Tallarico seems to be doing well with Video Games Live, which will have a special broadcast on PBS in July and August. I've occasionally seen Kristen Holt (now Kristen Adams) on XPlay.

Tina Wood and Laura Foy both work for Microsoft, and yeah Tina was part of their presser this year, playing one of the female characters in their Gears of War 3 demo.

Tommy Tallarico and Victor Lucas never had to worry about anything. They ran Electric Playground and Reviews on the Run/Judgment Day themselves with their own production studio. Hell, I remember seeing ads on TV for Electric Playground YEARS before TechTV was created. I mean the dudes, or at least Victor, are still running Reviews on the Run, you can watch new episodes online. Tommy has moved onto Video Games Live will full force, though, which is good for him, cause he is one of the best creators of music in the business.

See, I didn't think the new Cheat with Holt/Adams was bad at all, but the guy they had for the host back when it was G4 for gaming was my favorite. Can't recall his name, but he was rather enjoyable.

Reviews on the Run isn't a bad show these days. I do like that they're doing nightly episodes a week and that they've incorporated a boatload of people to help with the show. Only thing I really don't like is Tommy's replacement. Sounds like Tommy if he took a dose of valium before shooting a review, haha.

Also an awesome show back in it's infancy...Arena, with co-hosts Travis Oates and Wil F'N Wheaton. Now, that was comedy gold. I still vividly remember them playing Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast 2 and when players would fall into the black void off-screen, the hosts would sing rave music because they thought that a party was going on down there. Blowed that G4 pretty much fired them.

The later seasons with Lee and Kevin weren't bad, either, and it shows that Kevin's douche persona is just an act. Plus, I love how Arena was a prime example of how interconnected the shows were back then. One of the teams during Lee & Kevin's run was called Team Mizota after the original host of Filter, Diane Mizota. Hell, Diane even showed up for the episode they were in and gave them autographs. Sadly, I think they lost..... :(

Remember when Evangeline Lilly from Lost was the display model for Reviews on the Run/Judgment Day?

I remember when Tommy or Victor would say something bad about a controller or something she would shake it and then look at it with disapproval.
