Thanks to the overwhelming responses from all of you about the huge DEAD non-native snake that was fished out of the Shiawassee by kayackers a few days ago.  It has been tentatively identified as a Ball Python.  Again, most likely someones exotic pet that escaped, or was intentionally dumped.  Like the man who lost his Boa Constrictor while camping in Oakland Co. in 2011.  Or the LIVE      3 1/2 feet alligator that was captured in Lobdell Lake in 2005.  All of these types of reptiles cannot survive the frigid winter temperatures of Michigan.  So even if they mess with the ecosystem, they can never be a long-term invasive species.

For those of you that missed the initial discussion and photos of this snake.  They can all be viewed on the "PST Lake Association"  Facebook page, which is an open group.
