Dear Red Cedar River Watershed Stakeholder:

Under the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) 319 Nonpoint Source Grant Program, the Institute of Water Research at Michigan State University, along with numerous community partners, will be developing a watershed management plan for priority subwatersheds within the Red Cedar River Watershed.  You have been identified as a key stakeholder in this effort, and I hope that you will consider attending a meeting to discuss the project and offer your input.

A Red Cedar River Watershed Stakeholders meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 10:00 am – noon at the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission, which is located at 3135 Pine Tree Road, Suite 2C, Lansing MI 48911.

The meeting agenda will include an overview of the watershed planning process, goals of the Red Cedar River project, the process being used by the MDEQ to develop Total Maximum Daily Loads for pollutants within the watershed, and time for watershed stakeholders to discuss their ideas and concerns.

Please consider this opportunity to provide critical input and guidance on the development of a watershed management plan for the Red Cedar River Watershed. We ask that you RSVP by Friday, June 1, 2012 by clicking here: Red Cedar River Stakeholder's Meeting - RSVP.

We look forward to your involvement.  If you are unable to attend the meeting, but would like to offer your ideas about the planning process, or if you have any questions, please contact me by phone at 517-355-0224 or via email at kliner@....
