      Hi Glenn,

Our group ran across this issue as well.

I wrote a review of how we handled "Creating Aspects" and also wrote one on general "Character Creation" for DFRPG.

Instead of reposting all that content, (including 2 sample PCs) you can read it on our game site here:
      - Character Creation - http://gamenight.wyldeside.com/node/37
      - Creating Aspects - http://gamenight.wyldeside.com/node/38

I also wrote a review of HammerCon II (http://www.hammercon.ca/) that covered a DFRPG event, if you're interested, here - http://gamenight.wyldeside.com/node/34

My players said it helped, but then I did talk their ears off first. :)

It'd be nice to know if it was understandable to people that I hadn't discussed it with first.

      Enjoy!

What ended up working best for my explanations was a very light explanation of aspects, followed by a huge list of examples of the 4 different types of aspect (description, connection, story, situation).  After a firehose worth of examples, people got it very well.
