I also own a FT-1000mp and a FT-100. The main difference is that on the FT-1000mp you have preset choices for shaping what you hear ie.. choice A,B,C,D. On the FT-100 on the other hand you can dial in Highpass or Lowpass. I actually like the way they did this better than I did on the FT-1000mp. The digital bandpass on CW is really good although I do prefer mechanical filters and have a 500 installed for CW. All in all, I really can't find anything that I don't like with this little rig. The digital noise blanker is VERY impressive. I have it installed in a Ford Automobile which is known for their noisy fuel pumps and this actually makes it possible for me to operate in my car.
