Beside this you can log on to the website of International water and sanitation centre (IRC);
There are International organisations and NGOs are working in Tsunami affected areas on water and sanitation.
There is a Nirmal Gram Puraskar (national award ) instituted by the Government of India to recognize the efforts made by Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) , individuals , and organisations in promoting rural sanitation coverage.(Kurukshetra: A journal on Rural Development, vol.53 No. 5; March 2005; pp.48)
It will be very interesting that we share sanitation efforts around the world and evolved methodology and technological intervention for Sanitation campaign in Rural and Urban sanitation deprived areas.
There arecommunities who are defecating in open for years and that has become a part of there life. It will be little difficult to change them to modern sanitation practices with in should period of interventions. There should me participatory and CBOs based interventions required for total sanitation.
