From the Bob Bedford clipping file:

August 4, 1893 - The special deputies appointed by Sheriff Palmer to
protect the property of the Cayadutta Electric Railroad from the
angry Italians have been withdrawn, no harm being feared now, owing
to an arrangement whereby the company is to furnish the laborers with
provisions until their claims are legally adjusted.

August 7, 1893 - THE POWER HOUSE STRUCK - When the thunder and
lightning were fiercest this morning about 6 o'clock the powerhouse
of the Cayadutta Electric road received a sudden shakeup from the
electric fluid. The belt was thrown off from one of the larger
dynamos and the dynamo burned out. A new armature and other repairs
are needed to put the machinery in shape.

August 8, 1893 - The trolley wire for the electric road is being
strung through Main and William Streets and the cars may be expected
          to run soon.

Extra cars were run yesterday and today from Gloversville over the
main line of the Cayadutta Electric road. The company now has a man
stationed at the corner of Main and Fulton Streets, Gloversville, to
answer any inquiries as to cars, etc. He is provided with tickets of
          all kinds for sale.

From the Bob Bedford clipping file, two entries:

August 9, 1893 - JUMPED THE TRACK - An electric car on the Cayadutta
road due here last evening from Fonda at 6:02 jumped the track while
turning the curve just south of the town near the Columbian Place.
Travel was interfered with for one hour while the car was being
raised and placed back on the track, as no cars either way could pass
            this point.

August 14, 1893 - We are gratified to announce the Cayadutta Electric
RR Company have compromised the case of the Italian laborers and will
pay the amount agreed upon Wednesday. We understand that about
$4,000 is due them for wages.

The trolley over the road on Main and William Streets is now
completed. The first electric car passed over this portion of the
            road at 5:25 PM Saturday.

curve on East Main Street this morning. This was occasioned by a
projection caused by a mis-matched rail.

From the Bob Bedford clipping file, two days' worth:

August 16, 1893 - The electric cars commenced making regular trips
through Main Street at 4 PM yesterday.

August 18, 1893 - The electric machinery on one of the Cayadutta cars
became deranged in front of the Post Office on North Market Street at
8:30 last night and considerable delay was occasioned in repairing it.

Twenty-seven cars daily each way between Gloversville and Fonda is
the present schedule. Of these fourteen go over the Main Line and
thirteen pass through the Village of Johnstown.
