        Hello Ken,

Hoffman's is easiest identified today as the location where the Amtrak
single track main separates from the CSX main line between Selkirk and
Amsterdam, CP 169. The location of this photo is a bit west of the
FJ&G Hoffman's station, where today the west bound lanes of Route 5
pass around (by) rock ledges at a somewhat higher elevation than the
east bound lanes. IIRC the west bound lanes are on the old right of
way, more or less. The car in that photo is likely sitting on the
line delineating Montgomery and Schenectady counties.

Hoffmans village is still shown on highway maps seven miles east of
        Amsterdam on route 5.
