      All,
I am planning to attend on August 7, so you can make a name tag for me, as in Saul Kalbfeld, West Bloomfield, MI. I have fond memories of the Colonial Restaurant. It was basically your railside gin mill, but they had good food and on Sundays had a sizeable family clientele for Sunday dinner. My favorite booth was by the center picture window that faced toward the depot. Lots of rail traffic in the early fifties, with a train every 15 minutes or so.

I did a model of the Colonial about 25 years ago for my first mrr that showed the FJG at Fonda. A few years ago I did a set of plans in HO scale. They are in Corel Designer format. I'd have to convert them to PDF format if anyone is interested.

I don't know where I am going to stay, probably one of those little places in Fultonville off the Thruway. It's horsey season at the Spa, so the local inns raise their prices accordingly.

In the topographical maps I have, the old ROW south of where the new (1954) Rt. 30 highway begins north, is marked as a jeep trail. It was walkable until 30 years ago, but is now grown over. That point is also the beginning of a long straight downgrade into Northville, I wonder what was the speed restriction in train days.

      Regards,
      Saul
