        Fleischmann Dead at 85: End of an Era - Martin Fleischmann, co-discoverer with B. Stanley Pons in 1989 of a phenomenon they initially attributed to nuclear fusion, still colloquially called "cold fusion", is dead at 85. If the US gave the same subsidies to solar that it does to fossil fuels, solar would be cheaper than grid power in 100% of the country, rather than 14%.
