Hopefully last call for donations - I thought by now that we at PES would never again need to pass the hat because of all the incredible things happening in the free energy sector. Oh so close, but not quite there yet. Meanwhile, we really appreciate your contributions. We know this is a challenging time for everyone. (PESN; January 13, 2011)

Aviso Ponders Open Sourcing his Self-Running Electric Car Technology - Ismael Aviso is considering open sourcing his technology that harvests energy from the environment on the fly to keep a 11-kW DC motor running. He said he'll give it three months to decide whether to continue the investor route, or pursue the open source route. GPS-enabled phones and cameras store and post photo location identification - All you have to do is right click on such an image, and one option enables you to get the GPS coordinates of where the camera was at the time the photo was shot. This becomes a serious privacy and security issue to those who are unaware of this capability and are uploading such photos to public websites such as Facebook. (ABC; February 14, 2011)

Torque vectoring gears for smaller, more efficient wind turbines - Torque vectoring has been used in automobile differentials, allowing the amount of power sent to each wheel to be varied. Scientists at the Technische Universitaet Muenchen have now adapted this technology to wind turbines to eliminate the need for converting the alternating current produced by the turbines into direct current and back again before it is fed into the grid. Ask World Bank to stop funding dirty fuel projects - Global financial institutions such as the World Bank provide subsidies to oil, gas and coal companies. Your tax dollars may have helped the World Bank spend more than $6 billion last year on oil, gas and coal projects in developing countries. A fraction of that money could have put any one of many New Energy projects into the marketplace. (Changing Power; February 24, 2011)
