Buyer Beware > N-Motion: The Perpetual Motion Vehicle Company - Snazzy-looking website gives the appearance similar to Tesla Motors, Co (a legitimate electric car company), but with no supporting technology. A "perpetual motion" company with no "perpetual motion" working technology. (PESWiki; Jan. 30, 2007) (Thanks Mary-Sue Haliburton)
- Solar > Concentrated > Pacific SolarTech - Photovoltaic modules for utility-scale, remote and grid-connected systems use lenses to concentrate sunlight 10x onto small solar cells (1/10 of the lens size). This reduces the requisite amount of silicone, making solar power affordable. Dome-shaped lenses can catch diffuse light and redirect it to the solar cells with a fixed, non-tracking mount for rooftop applications. (Thanks John Q. Public)
- Ethanol > Cellulosic Ethanol Company to Use Woodwaste and Other Biomass - New technologies are required to produce ethanol from biomass cellulose rather than from the fermentation of valuable grains. Lignol Energy Corporation has acquired and modified a solvent-based pre-treatment technology originally developed by a subsidiary of General Electric (GE). (Renewable Energy Access; Jan. 30)
