      2. FUNDAMENTALISTS SCREW UP
In a story somewhat related to the Rosie news, fundamentalist
activists at the Family Research Council (FRC) recently told
a reporter for online magazine Slate a real whopper about Jon
and Michael Gallucio (two gay parents who had the first gay
adoption in NJ, and who were recently profiled in Rosie's
magazine). According to the article, FRC president Ken
Connor told Slate that the Gallucios had "died from AIDS"
(Connor was trying to use their purported AIDS-death as a
reason why gay people shouldn't adopt children). In addition
to being a big old putz for trying to use the AIDS card to
demonize gay people, Connor also gets a big demerit for
pronouncing the Gallucios dead before their time. According
to an email I just received from Jon and Michael, "we are
really alive and well and not dead from AIDS as dear ole
Connor from the FRC reports." And even more ironic, the
article was about how lobbying groups "fudge their data" to
influence the gay adoption debate. You think?

Hopefully this will be a lesson to reporters that they should
take the FRC's anti-gay verbiage with a grain of salt (and a
      necklace of garlic).
