Flying Flounder Groomed For Extensive Tests

Baltimore, Oct. 6(AP)Cheston L. Eshelman groomed his third "flying flounder" today for extensive air tests within a week.
After these tests, Eshelman said he would turn his wingless craft over to Army and Navy officials to check claims he has made for it.
Eshelman said his "flying flounder" would hit 500 miles per hour with a 1,200-horsepower motor faster than the best combat planes now in service.
The inventor's latest model is 20 feet long and 18 feet wide, and is built of lighter metals than its predecessors.
The first "flying flounder" crashed on its first flight. The second was put through 63 successful tests.
"I think this model will convince them," he said.
