ICSA provides a database of book reviews on cults, workshops for those who are trying to overcome the abuse from a cult and much more.

I provide a link to a paper written by an ex-eckist ( 7th initiate ) who is now a professional therapist.

        Hello Russ and All,
        Yes, this is Jerry Mulvin's
        2nd ex-wife who is,
        still, very angry with
        him. I'm thinking that
        this is the main reason
        for her getting into
        the Cult Recovery
        Program/Workshops
        in the first place!
        There's not really any
        Cult Busting taking
        place since they don't
        even mention the cults
        by name!

        Other info states that
        Mulvin was a 6th when
        he left Eckankar and
        that she wasn't an
        EKist for as long as
        he was but was promoted
        quickly to be of the
        same initiation level.
        I reposted some info
        below on Mulvin.

        Hello Etznab and All,
I only know what I read
        on Sharon's Yahoo site
        EckankarTruth.

        This is what Jerry's 2nd
        wife, Colleen, stated but
        that they were 7ths. This
        other info states that he
        was a 6th initiate when
        he left Eckankar.

        I suggest you go to
        Eckankartruth and
        ask these same questions
        for clarification on
        this issue and, perhaps,
        some old documents
        verifying this claim,
        Time-Frame etc.,
        (by Colleen) could be
        scanned and posted.

            Hello Russ,
            Here's some more info
            on Colleen's cult therapy
            group. Apparently she
            stayed on with Eckankar
            after she and Mulvin
            divorced ('77) for about
            eight more years. I think
            Mulvin left Eckankar
            around '79. She seems
            to toot her own horn
a bit too much for my
            taste, but the cult recovery
            work seems sound.
