I was trying to use Goldwave Software to create WAV ID. Which is a
very nice program and have been using it for years. But standard
8-bit PCM Mono format thats "unsigned" doesnt seem to work.

The following is help file for echolink:

      ----
Note that any custom WAV files you provide must be in 8-bit, 8000Hz
PCM Mono format. Selection of any other type of WAV file will
      produce an error message.
      ----

It doesnt say whether file format is 'signed' or 'unsigned'.

So question is what is everyone using to make new ID's... and does
anyone know what EchoLink uses 'signed' VS 'unsigned'for WAV file
      usage?
