New to the SCA or new to hand sewing?  This class is for you!  What’s
a medieval person do to clothe themselves if you can’t afford the
prices of the tailor’s guilds?  Hand sew them of course!  This course
is a beginners introduction to hand sewing.  You will learn 4 basic
stitches used in hand sewing and found on extant European garments and
items from the Bronze Age to 1605 CE (and beyond).  You will make a
small coin purse using all four stitches as a sampler demonstration of
your new skills.  Materials provided, but participants are welcome to
bring their own.  Materials available for 15 students, handouts for
25, everyone is welcome.  Donation: $1.00 but not required for
      participation  Class time: 1.5 hours
