Just in case there was a misunderstanding ...
- Hi everyone.
I just want to make it clear that I'm NOT leaving the Ealdormere Blacksmith Guild nor do I have any complaints about how Thora has run it. I am proud to be a member of the EBG and I am grateful to Thora for starting it.
Likewise inspired, I started the Ealdormere Metalsmiths and Jewelers Guild to promote other metal work in our Kingdom and to hopefully promote more guilds. Blacksmithing and other metalsmithing/jewelry have some significant differences so I decided to set up a separate guild - as it would have been in the past. But I see no reason why both guilds can't work cooperatively and/or collaboratively. So this isn't me packing up my toys and going elsewhere in a fit of pique. I just want to see more guilds in the Kingdom and more promotion of A&S.
For example, I see armouring as being very specialized from other blacksmithing, so I would love to see an Armourers Guild. I was stunned to see pewterers joining the EMJ guild - I thought there already was a Pewterers Guild, but apparently there isn't - there might be one, one day. So I think it would be great to see specialised guilds pop up promoting their craft and providing a forum to teach new enthusiasts - just like we're trying to do.
As the subject line suggests, I figured I would post an explanation in case people were wondering.
