Subject: [RAPIER-L] Paddy Crean Workshop in Banff

Registration is now live for the Paddy Crean Workshop.  The Paddy Crean Workshop
is all about the sharing of ideas from people all over the world!  There are
artists teaching stunts, stage combat, historical martial arts and every other
kind of theatrical movement in between.

This workshop brings together martial artists (eastern and western) with combat
actors.  There will be an opportunity to train with some of the premier
instructors in stage & screen from around the world who will be teaching stunts,
stage combat, historical martial arts and every other kind of theatrical
      movement in between.
If you have any questions please let me know at jaredkirby@...
      Take care,

The 2010 Paddy Crean International Art of the Sword WorkshopProgram dates:
      December 29, 2010 - January 3, 2011
      Registration deadline: October 15, 2010

This workshop is an opportunity for master teachers, researchers, and movement
artists to get together and share in the wealth of knowledge that is found in
historical and theatrical fighting techniques, from all around the world.
Everyone from beginners to experts in stage combat, historical martial arts, and
      theatrical movement are welcome.
The theme of this year's workshop will be a celebration of the living history
and development of swordplay and unarmed fighting styles. The workshop will
explore classes in historical fighting technique and styles, stage and film
combat techniques and process, contemporary martial arts, and movement theory.
There will be a focus on how these disciplines have been taught and passed on
from teacher to student throughout history. This forum will explore the movement
art forms of the past and present, and establish a living library to preserve
the international body of research that is found in the study of the art of
      stage combat.
